What is the important information you have to remember from your reading today? Write the important information and explain why you think it is significant.

EXAMPLE:
In our last reading of 451, we need to remember that the fire truck pulled up in front of Montag’s house to burn it, and that Beatty knew all along that he was hiding multiple books. We need to remember this because this is a major turning point of the book where Montag’s doubts about his profession are exposed and so his life is going to completely change from how it has always been.

5. Reader Response – Beatty’s Death
Montag uses fire to destroy Beatty, which liberates himself but kills a human being.
1. Why do you think Montag kills Beatty? Is it to free himself, free the books, or to avenge the deaths of Mrs. Hudson and Clarisse? Or to protect Faber? Or maybe all four? Explain your answer.
2. Is this murder justified? Can murder ever be justified? Explain your answer.

Answer in complete sentences by restating the question in your answer. This should be at least ½ a page!

2.Do a character analysis of how Montag is feeling in part two, “The Sieve and the Sand”, using the quote sandwich model. How does he feel about his reality now? Write at least ½ page.
